9-13-10: Rep. Sandy Levin supports extending HCTC at 80%

Congressman Sandy Levin, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, supports the extension of HCTC benefit at the 80% subsidy rate beyond December 31, 2010.

 

The House Ways and Means Committee has jurisdiction over all tax, trade and economic growth policies and entitlement spending, including Social Security, Medicare, welfare and unemployment compensation.

John Dingell (D-MI), the most senior member of Congress, today wrote to Treasury Secretary Geithner in support of our cause.  "These retirees deserve to be treated fairly and in the same manner as hourly employees whose benefits were made whole ... I urge you to work with the salaried retirees to ensure they receive pensions they are rightfully owed."
