Eblast tips

In many cases where DSRA members are not receiving DSRA eblasts we find that the messages are actually being sent correctly, but are being diverted to your SPAM/JUNK mailbox.  Some ISPs are very inconsistent, literally on a day to day basis some messages will go to SPAM/JUNK while others will not.  If you read your email in an organizer such as Outlook please check your SPAM/JUNK folders at the web level as well as in your organizer.

It is important to have our sent-from address sent-from "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.", displayed as "Delphi Salaried Retirees" in your address book and in your email account's safe senders list to ensure that your system recognizes our eblasts.  If you read your email in an organizer such as Outlook you may need to make set your address book or safe sender list at the web level as well as in the organizer.  If you are using Gmail, Outlook.com, Hotmail, or MSN, please check your "Promotions" (or similar) tab in their new format (started in early 2014), you may find our messages are being directed there, we recommend eliminating the new tabs via your email settings unless you really need them.  Gmail information on new tabs.

Some ISP's arbitrarily block DSRA eblasts, again inconsistently, and when your ISP blocks our messages then our system observes internet mass emailing protocol and removes your address from future distribution.  In that case a single "hard bounce" stops all future emails until you contact us and we manually unblock it.  AOL is generally the worst ISP for inconsistently blocking mass emails.

If your mailbox is full three times (any three times over any period of time), our system observes internet mass emailing protocol and removes your address from future distribution.  The third experience of a full mailbox deletes your address from all future emails until you contact us and we manually unblock it.

If you do not receive an eblast from DSRA in a two week period of time then most likely a DSRA message has gone to SPAM/JUNK or you have been unsubscribed and you need to contact us.

When an email address is blocked we cannot just unblock the address without your permission, overriding a block without a request is a violation of internet protocol for mass emailing.  We could be shut down if we are accused of overriding blocks and unsubscriptions.  If we notice your address has bounced we may try to contact you, but we may not notice, but if your email address is invalid then we cannot send you an email anyway, and we can only call you if your contact information is current!
