The DSRA Election Committee would like to advise you of the upcoming DSRA Board Membership Election scheduled for later this year.   For the last 18 months, we have utilized a nominated interim Board of Directors to direct the DSRA activities.  DSRA bylaws require an election of Board Members by the DSRA membership.   To facilitate the DSRA Board Member election process, the DSRA Election Committee was formed in May 2010.

This first election will be for all 7 Board member positions to be effective January 1, 2011.   Future annual elections will be for either 3 or 4 Board positions.  Half of the newly elected Board will have a one year term and the other half will have a 2 year term.  All future terms will be for 2 years.

Candidates will run for the Board but not a specific Board Position.  The newly elected Board will decide which Board Member will occupy which Board position.  There are 4 Officer positions: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.  There are 3 other Board Positions which deal with such matters as: Communications, Membership, and Legal and Government Affairs.

Within the next two months you will receive an additional update regarding the DSRA election process to include candidacy guidelines and nomination forms.  In the meantime a section of the DSRA web site has been devoted to the election process to provide you with additional information – click on "DSRA Elections" on the left side menu.

Currently the "DSRA Elections" web page contains a more detailed timeline of the election process plus various DSRA Documents which provide more information about the DSRA Board of Directors and the election process.  The Election Committee will add more information to this section as it becomes available such as a FAQ segment so keep checking back to this section.

The future and continued success of the DSRA depends upon both a qualified and dedicated leadership and a participative and supportive membership. Please support the election process by nominating qualified candidates and by voting.
