We are delighted to learn that the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will hold a hearing in Dayton regarding Delphi Salaried Retirees on November 14 and we look forward to participating in the hearing. This hearing will be focus on the Delphi Salaried Retiree Pension Loss Issue. It is anticipated that Congressman Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, will attend.
Our lawsuit to restore our rightful, earned pensions continues to move forward, but we are always welcome to new opportunities to explain the inequities we have incurred for more than two years. This Hearing is a follow up to our June 22nd Hearing with Congressman Jim Jordan's Oversight Sub-Committee. Congressman Michael Turner made this important announcement today.

SEN. SHERROD BROWN STATEMENT ON RECESS APPOINTMENT OF PBGC DIRECTOR

Administration Bypasses Brown’s Hold on Nomination of Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. Director
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) released a statement today, following the recess appointment of Joshua Gotbaum to serve as Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC). In May, Brown placed a hold on the nomination of Gotbaum, who has recused himself from any decision-making related to Delphi, in order to urge the Administration to bring General Motors to the table to meet the pension obligations of Delphi retirees. The Administration appointed Director Gotbaum during the Senate’s July recess in order to circumvent Brown’s hold.

3-31-10: BREAKING NEWS: Congressional Groups Lose Patience, Demand Withheld Information
- Details
- Updated Monday May 16 2011 21:01 EDT
- Published Wednesday March 31 2010 19:39 EDT
Two powerful Congressional groups have stepped up pressure on the Federal Government and The New General Motors to provide information that has been requested numerous times and ignored as many times.
John Kline (R-MN-2), the senior Republican member on the Committee of Education and Labor, was joined by Tom Price (R-GA-6) another committee member in requesting George Miller, the chairman of the committee, to subpoena all relevant documents related to the disparate treatment of Delphi Corporation retirees' pension benefits by the current Administration.
In a second action, Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN-05) and other GOP members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released a letter written to Ed Whitacre, Jr., Chairman of General Motors, seeking "all records and communications between General Motors, and the Federal Government regarding GM's decision to discriminate against non-union workers while spending billions on union pensions."
Delphi Salaried Retiree Association Interim Chairman Den Black commented this evening that, "I'm delighted that the patience of many members of Congress is wearing thin regarding the stonewalling by GM and our government. From the beginning, our only goal has been to be treated fairly and equitably. It is our belief that the US government is constitutionally required to treat all citizens with equal protection. Therefore when the government chooses to enter an industrial bankruptcy, it cannot choose winners and losers."

2-18-10: Today Was A Very Good Day For DSRA
- Details

Today was a very good day with regard to our on-going, and unrelenting, efforts to obtain "fair and equitable" pension treatment for all of the pension eligible Delphi salaried retirees and active Delphi employees.
We were very pleased with the most recent Michigan Federal District Court Judge's ruling which was issued this morning.
In addition, there were no negatives coming from the status and settlement conference involving "all parties" which was held this afternoon.
